GameSpot’s Best of 2017 #10 – Nier Automata

As GameSpot kicks off it’s countdown of the best games of 2017, Nier: Automata gets its moment in the spotlight at #10. Miguel, Michael, Mike and Peter breakdown what made this game so memorable…

  1. I loved Nier, Not as much as the other games I played this year, but I think it at least should have been at like top 5 or something.

    5. BOTW
    4. Nier Automata
    3. Gravity Rush 2
    2. Nioh
    1. Persona 5

  2. 1. Horizon: Zero Dawn
    2. Nier Automata
    3. Nioh
    4. Divinity: Original Sin 2
    5. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
    6. Hollow Knight
    7. Assassin's Creed: Origins
    8. Cuphead
    9. Hellblade
    10. Prey

  3. Guys I know you made a spoiler warning but showing one of the very last boss fight in the game was not cool at all. I have beated the game and this is one moment I have appreciated a lot in the game because it was a total surrise. You should have showned the prologue instead and keep it spoiler free for thos who are curious about the game and did not have the chance to play.

  4. This is why i am unsubscribe GameSpot, they have a bad taste in gaming. This game shouldnt put in number 10, at least it must be got top 5.

This game has good story, gameplay, and character design. Usually in a game you only got 5 good soundtrack but all of this game soundtrack are fucking good. I never feel so emotional with story line since my last fav game MGS 3 12 years ago, this game is the only game that make me cry when i finished it until the final ending.

  5. I always thought Japanese voice over is way better, 9S was the best character development in this game. It's my personal #1 GOTY next to Persona 5, it's a unique experience when it comes to writing and such. It's a niche title where you'll never know its worth unless you finish the whole story experience with different character development.

  6. I think the design of the characters is worth talking about. For a while, the fact that you can see up 2b's skirt bothered me a bit, but I got through it. But by the time I got to the third ending I just accepted it, because I felt like it could have relevance with the narrative. I could be wrong though, maybe it's just the style they were going for. Either way I respect the confidence that the game has to go for it. =)

  7. 10. Wolfenstein: The New Colossus
    9. Cuphead
    8. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
    7. Horizon: Zero Dawn
    6. Legend of Zelda: BOTW
    5. Nioh
    4. Divinity: Original Sin II
    3. Nier: Automata
    2. Mario Odyssey
    1. Persona 5

  8. The storytelling,Soundtrack and Character design was great. It has makesense lesson in story and interesting Lore that make player to research them. But I cant say this game is perfect, Combat system and RPG element is not depth enough to play again. It worth to play only 1 time and performance isnt good enogh too. However This game is very great to play and it is one of best game that i ever play.
